Masquerade 02:49
These are re-done lyrics for 2019: Life is just a masquerade Just adopt a happy charade Smile from ear to ear The hardest thing in life is to truly care Take this image of perfection Contort yourself into its reflection Emaciate your body’s sections Worship this substitute erection Now you take my by the hand Show me ecstasy a grain of sand In this universal desert parade Sunken hollow masquerade Life is just a masquerade Just adopt a happy charade Smile from ear to ear The hardest thing in life is to truly care

These are updated 2019 lyrics: You wear a crown of thorns It tears and blinds your eyes Another child is born Into a world of lies Crown of thorns Lies that blind Crown of thorns Ties that bind A self appointed martyr Feeding on the children’s cries Self appointed time waster The truth must be denied Crown of thorns Ties that blind Crown of thorns Lies that bind

They prey on the weak to intimidate They never will leave it alone Stand over, fear, hatred sincere Too scared to say much on their own The chip on their shoulder drags them down Don’t ever sink to their level We all must relearn how to live our lives And pay respects when they’re due

Driving down that lonely road I lost myself again I can find some peace of mind where air and diesel blend I can’t go any faster, but it is what it is A road train disaster, running out of gears And you can call me lazy, I’m no business man You can call me crazy, I am what I am Driving down that lonely road, it doesn’t have an end I don’t know what I will find, the open road my friend I can’t go any faster, but it is what it is A railroad disaster, running out of beers And you can call me lazy, I’m no business man You can call me crazy, I am what I am

Our death does from above now push has come to shove We’ll hear the eagle cry The sonic boom goes by No right, no wrong, all here, then gone No right, no wrong, all here, then gone No ill, no legal, we’ve learnt to fear the eagle

Green Dragon 06:29
My head is spinning around and around - My world is turning upside down - why am I always falling That last one, that did it for me My mind is open and I set my stomach free I know I’ve felt this way before Green dragon snarling at the door I’m lying down so I don’t fall down I’m freezing cold but I’m sweating Green dragon pushed me over the edge I’m lying down so I don’t fall down I’m freezing cold but I’m sweating Ride the green dragon out over the edge I thought the smoke was starting to clear - who are these voices calling I felt myself picking up a gear - why am I always falling That last one, that did it for me My mind is open and I set my stomach free I know I’ve felt this way before Green dragon snarling at the door I’m lying down so I don’t fall down I’m freezing cold but I’m sweating Green dragon pushed me over the edge I’m lying down so I don’t fall down I’m freezing cold but I’m sweating Ride the green dragon out over the edge

Damo and Richy have been writing riffs and jamming together for almost a quarter century. Here are a few tunes that they composed (either individually or together), and a couple they didn’t.

Part 1: Aggression and Regression. Original artist: Without A Reason (WAR) 1993ish - 2000-ish.

Masquerade - Composed 1993, Richy’s first song in drop tuning (drop D). First independently released on the cassette demo tape ‘Loathe Enmity’ in 1994.

Crown of Thorns - Released 1996 on a split 7” Vinyl with Damo’s original band Peanut (Richy played drums on both sides of the 7”).

Prey on the Weak - our first %100 co-written song. Written in Damo’s bedroom in Tress street, recorded late 90s with Ernie in Coburg, and released as the 7” vinyl ‘Staunch’.

Part 2: Reaming for Men-Gents (Offenders of the Faith)

I Asked For A Peppermint - a third generation cover, and a moving tribute to emotional manipulation and self harm.
Just Desserts, Plain Deserts - a homoerotic song about motorbikes.

Part 3: The Boogie-Man Cometh. Original Artist: Down River 2001ish, 2005-2009.

Diesel (a.k.a All Aboard the Pumpkin Bus) - Written and recorded for the first Down River album around 2001, but didn’t get jammed enough in time to make the cut. Wildeornes aficionados will pick the riff.

Fear The Eagle - written and recorded/released 2007 on the second Downriver album ‘Seethin Heathen’. A song about how fucked up America is. Still relevant 12 years later with no change in lyrics.

Green Dragon - this epic has been jammed and recorded many times between 2001-very recently, but it never got released. The riffs have been pulled apart and used in other songs, but finally, we present it to you in it’s basically original (and best) structure. Pull up the beanbag, grab the mantlepiece, pack a thumbscrew and await the beast.
